I’m Martin Fouilleul, an independent researcher and programmer. My research areas include new programming interfaces for creative tools, distributed human-machine interactions, and temporal scheduling models. I’m also excited about audio processing, graphics and GPU programming, and physics simulations.

Professional experience

2023-2026: Independent researcher and developer. Lead of the Orca project, a WebAssembly runtime for portable, sandboxed graphical applications.

2026: R&D engineer, Laboratoire des Systèmes Perceptifs, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris (4 months). Study on speech (poly-)rythmicity. I developed a tool based on the wavelet-transform to extract peaks from amplitude and frequency modulation spectra of speech recordings, and analyse their regularity across a cross-linguistic corpus. Article in preparation.

2024: Programming contract, Hooper Software LLC (6 months). Optimization work for the vector graphics engine of Principle.

2024: R&D engineer, Laboratoire des Systèmes Perceptifs, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris (6 months). Design and application of signal processing techniques to analyse the rythmic patterns of speech recordings.

2012-2019: Founder and CEO, Sweet Spot (sound engineering company). Broad range of experience in audio recording, sound reinforcement, mixing, mastering, computer music design, festivals and international tours.
